First Class have been growing cress seeds.
Firstly, we made predictions as to what would happen to the cress that got light and water, the cress that was grown in the dark and the cress that had no water. We then waited patiently for our cress to grow. While we were waiting we learned all about procedural writing. We used bossy verbs to write ‘How to Grow Cress’. The children then wrote instructions using a topic of their choice. We had lots of different instructions such as ‘How to do a Cartwheel’ and ‘How to Make a Sandwich’.
